Boil Water Advisory

November 22, 2022

Time Issued: 2:39 pm

N/C #: 2505387

A Boil Water Advisory is in effect for the following customers: beginning at 5284 Turkey Creek and continuing to and including Calf Creek, also continuing along Tug River Road to Dempsey Hollow. These locations are in Martin County Kentucky.

This Advisory has been issued due to the following reason: a break in a 6’’ main line. This affects approximately 150 customers.

Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply; therefore, this boil water advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three (3) minutes before using.

This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected, and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality.

Issued By: Angie Terry, KY DEP After Hours Emergency Hotline

As a courtesy, Martin County Water District will postpone disconnects for non-payment until after the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Cutoffs will resume on Monday, November 28th.

We wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving!
