Boil Water Advisory

A Boil Water Advisory is in effect beginning at 2075 Big Elk Rd. to 5113 Big Elk Rd. this will also include Upper Poplar Fk.

This Advisory has been issued due to the following reason: Break in 6” main line, this will affect approximately 96 Customers

Following such an event the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply:

Therefore, this boil water advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice boils all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for (3) minutes before use.

This advisory will remain in effect until test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality.

Attention Customers:

Staff will be repairing a main line leak on Big Elk Road. Customers beginning at 2075 Big Elk Road continuing to 5113 Big Elk Road, as well as Poplar Fork, may experience low pressure and outages.  This will include all hollows and sub hollows in this area.

If customers outside of these areas experience outages or loss of pressure, please contact the office at (606) 298-3885 or use the ‘Contact Us’ tab on our website at mcub.org.

We appreciate your patience as we continue our efforts and ask that you use caution while traveling near our utility workers.

This is located in Martin County, KY. This Advisory has been released as of  March 10, 2026; time of release was 10:26 am. The above advisory has been lifted by Robert Back with the Division of Water.
